Bear is in Halifax right now waiting for his visa, and even though it’s been raining for the entire two weeks he’s been there, and even though my life is here in Brighton (mostly) I kind of feel a bit of Hali-love and I’m missing it a bit today.
I’m sure you’re wondering: “what do you do when you feel like this?” Obviously, I go to YouTube and find the Jenn Grant video that was filmed in the North End. I know, I’m certainly no hipster (I do not like this song ironically, I actually like it) and I’m not a hippie either, but seeing the grey skies and the snow on the ground and a bit of Halifax makes me feel a bit better.

I can’t remember which Jenn Grant song it is, but there’s one lyric: “past Chocolate Lake, down by the rotary” that always makes me smile because I think ‘that’s by my house!’
